Rainy Day…

27 05 2007

So here is my personal blog for the day…its raining…I mean I could lie and say I have been doing so much but we all know that isn’t true so I will just say its the most dismal day for quite sometime and what makes it worse is nextdoor has had people move in so what that means is people are now scraping and banging till their hearts content on a bank holiday weekend…oh well you can’t have it all I suppose a quiet Sunday doesn’t exist these days.

Popcorn…

27 05 2007

Today seeing as the weather is abysmal outside which is coming in the next post by the way I thought I would watch a movie I have and its called Popcorn and its one of those cheesy British Teen Romance Comedies yeah I just put alot of topics in one there but thats what it was to be honest. It stars Jodi Albert of Hollyoaks fame and Jack Ryder of Eastenders fame and they both play Cinema ushers tho I have never seen Cinema Ushers as hot as some of these girls, Jack Ryders character fancies the Jodi Albert character and he tries everything he knows of to get her to like him but of course with all Teen romances it doesn’t go fully according to plan.

Now I thought it was really funny in parts and anything that makes me laugh is good in my book and for a dismal Sunday afternoon it pretty much filled a place that was quite bleak so yeah its worth a watch so I give it a 7/10 from me tho IMDB at the time of typing this gave it a wholesome 3.3…

Freaks and Geeks…

27 05 2007

Well I got through Off Centre and now I am onto some of the other shows that were big around that era and one I found earlier was Freaks and Geeks and it was just the pilot but still I thought I would watch it and see what it was like and you know what I actually really liked it. It’s set in the 1980’s and has a great cast of Linda Cardellini and Seth Rogen among others and its produced by Judd Apatow who actually did some stuff for 40 year old virgin so I think thats a major reason why I wanted to see this knowing how funny that was. So I did some research on wikipedia on the show and lets face what can’t you find on wikipedia these days and it lasted for 15 episodes then it was canceled like all good stuff and then due to protest and fan support the last 3 were shown and then in 2004 it was released on dvd which is something I might look to get because its really good. This is the premise of the show to quote from Wikipedia:

The show centered on a teenage girl, Lindsay Weir (played by Linda Cardellini), and her brother, Sam (John Francis Daley), both attending McKinley High School during the 1980-1981 school year in the town of Chippewa, Michigan. (The town likely got its name from Chippewa Valley High School located in Clinton Charter Township, Michigan. Paul Feig graduated from the school in 1980.)Their friends, respectively, constituted the freaks — Daniel Desario, Ken Miller, Nick Andopolis, Kim Kelly — and geeks — Neal Schweiber and Bill Haverchuck — of the title. Parents Harold and Jean Weir were featured and Millie Kentner, Lindsay’s geeky, highly religious former best friend, was a recurring character.
The show’s starting point was Lindsay’s transition from her life as an academically proficient student, star mathlete, and proper young girl, with Millie as her like-minded best friend, to an Army-jacket-wearing teenager who hangs out with troubled slackers. Her relationships with her new friends, and the friction they cause with her parents and with her own self-image, form one central strand of the show; the other follows Sam and his group of geeky friends as they navigate a very different part of the social universe.

It’s not just that either I have been watching Undeclared which I used to see on ITV really late at nights like around 3am and such and thats another Judd Apatow show and also stars alot of the stars from 40 year old virgin and freaks and geeks, but of course that gained a cult following and also got canceled.
