I took advantage today of the lull in the rain to venture out to Aldwick armed with just my phone to get a picture of the shipwreck that intrigues me every time I walk that way and there she was the tide was out far enough for me to get a picture of it and even walk inside it…I think it has something to do with the memorial down Dark Lane about the Mine Sweeper who was killed…but still its and interesting thing…I think once a year the tide goes really far out and when that happens you can see other wrecks but not sure how true that is still tho its pretty darn awesome…Bognor maybe lame and boring but it has some interesting secrets…

That looks so cool. Nice pictures for a phone too.
The Aldwick shipwreck is a small part of the concrete floating harbour; “Mullberry Harbour”; that was constructed in sections around our part of the coast and towed to the Normandy beaches to enable the unloading of equipment to be used in the D-day landings. There is another one, marked by a warning buoy around the bay at Pagham, it is visible from Aldwick beach. Off the beaches around Caen in Normandy, there are a lot still remaining.
